Dhaka University Law and Politics Review (DULPR) is the successor organization of Dhaka University Central Student's Union (DUCSU) Law and Politics Review (DUCSU LPR). After 28 long years, when DUCSU Election took place in 2019, the elected representatives of the DUCSU, led by Assistant General Secretary, Saddam Hussain and International Affairs Secretary, Shahrima Tanjin Arni, aimed at creating University of Dhaka as the central hub for holding public policy debates with national and international policy makers, jurists and academicians and forming a bridge between the academia and the industry. To foster that aim, the office of the Secretary, International Affairs, DUCSU, Shahrima Tanjin Arni constituted a student body to publish the DUCSU Law and Politics Review (DUCSU LPR)

The DUCSU Law and Politics Review was an academic journal about law, policy, politics and governance edited by the top most students of the country. The primary purpose of DUCSU LPR was to publish cutting edge critical scholarly works on the relevant field and organize public lectures, symposiums, seminars and conferences. The publication included works written by students, top level policy maker, scholars, professors and noted practitioners of home and abroad. All articles — even those by the most respected authorities was subjected to a rigorous editorial process by the brightest students of University of Dhaka.

Through an interview process, a then current LLM Student of Department of Law, University of Dhaka, Md Azhar Uddin Bhuiyan was selected as the Editor-in-Chief of the DUCSU Law and Politics Review (DUCSU LPR). Under his leadership, the Editorial Board of DUCSU LPR was constituted through rigorous interview soon after the appointment of the Advisers and Editor-in-Chief.

When the tenure of DUCSU was complete in the midst of Covid 19 global pandemic, with the permission of the Pro-Vice chancellor (Education), the Dhaka University Law and Politics Review shall from now on run as a successor but independent organization of DUCSU LPR.
